These first 5 pix are from the arrival of the Arafura.

I was not really prepared for its arrival, so I improvised as best I could.

I was following the advice of a Very Long term Keeper with what I had to work with, and ordered more stuff to arrive asap.

The way the snake hung out among the pots was one of the things that led me to realize the need for Multi Directional Contact Security.

At this point the snake still refused to use its hide box. After I added Gravel and finally some rocks inside the hide box--he finally found it to his liking and made it his home.

In this pic the snake was checking out the hide box, but didn't actually start using it until later. You can see the single white spot of fungus on its head.

Wolfing down a large Comet Goldfish. Only took me 3 hrs to get this pic.

Just a couple of head shots.

Same pic just cropped a little tighter.

These scars arrived on the snake. They never presented a problem. They were healing very slowly. Just shows the kind of abuse these animals can take. And make ya wonder why they are so "Fragile" in captivity-- Its the Husbandry, I tell ya...

A Picture of the Tail. Look in the mirrored background- -there's a lot of Contact going on there.

These next 3 pictures are of the Arafura cruising around hunting for food. I had just put some fish in the tank.

Getting ready to take a pit stop for air.

Breathing easy hidden under all of the top coverage.

Cruising around hunting food on a different day.

They eat well, but they really don't seem to "Bright" about it.

Picture of the setup before the gravel and UGF, powerheads, etc

Pic of the Hide box.

Needless to say the comets are plant eaters. So, they did what they do--and all of the plants!

Eventually I added a separate plant filter / refugium.
